About & CV
Alexis Amann (b. Rochester, NY) is a visual artist based in San Francisco and raised on the wild Oregon Coast. Her work explores her own experience of emotion and body through a vivid narrative world of mythological and mundane characters. Alexis’ work references the urban and natural landscapes of the West Coast through paintings, drawings, installations, and comics that blend autobiographical elements with fantasy, mythology, and fairy tales. Alexis holds an MFA in Painting from the San Francisco Art Institute and a BA in Drawing/Painting/Printmaking from Portland State University. The artist has shown in exhibitions at New Image Gallery, LA; Johannson Gallery, Oakland; Dust Gallery, Las Vegas, as well as other exhibitions in Portland, New York, Portland, and the SF Bay Area.
